In a well-written essay, this would all come to a point. So this is
the point: all a competent woman needs is a good dog and a few
faithful cats. And she may not need that if she's a stout soul.

Well put, Marie. Jim is a very hard act to follow. You were blessed to
have him. And now there are good dogs and cats.

Several here have mentioned that one advantage of having a man is
getting things done. I'm not a big person, but I've learned over the
years that I can do an awful lot with levers and pulleys. So I don't
need a man around to do things for me. I would have been happy to find
someone who would be a good partner in this life, though, but I can do
without it. I have a very good dog, so I'll be just fine!

As to the gals looking for a stud muffin to share, I've known several
guys over the years who would be very happy under those circumstances,
and who would have preferred that arrangement to monogamy. If'n you
are interested, I'll be happy to hook y'all up. You'd have to settle
for middle aged men, though.

Happy to Have a Really Good Dog and a Really Good Horse!
