A safe bet is Stevia--which comes from the stevia plant. It registers a
whopping zero on the glycemic scale--it does not affect blood sugar. It's
extremely sweet, even sweeter than sugar, but you can purchase it in white
powdered form in a little packet just like the others. You can also
purchase it in larger quantities (1#, etc.) and use it in baking and
whatnot.

Thanks Lisa! I had forgotten about stevia. Stevia is the perfect sweetner. It is not an artificial sweetner at all, but naturaly sweet like sugar. Arifical sweetner companies have been trying to get it banned here for years. This is the sweetner that Cleopatra used. It's been around a long time with no noticeable side effects. You can grow it yourself even. There is a lady on ebay that sells the plants. I had some in a pot and was amazed at the taste.
