We also have one bartlett, one anjou and one kieffer as well. We're
pear rich, in addition to being apple and blueberry rich.

My blueberries were small and more tart this year. I think it's the
drought.
I'm looking forward to being apple and cherry rich. Right now, I have
to rely on the neighbor's trees as mine aren't quite old enough to
produce heavily yet. Actually, these pears are off the neighbors' tree,
too. I had a couple on my Maxine/Moonglow grafted double pear, but
alas, the deer butted the tree and beat me to the punch. My neighbor's
pear tree is older and more prolific than mine are, so after the deer
got mine, we went down and harvested hers before the deer got them. :)
I planted two different varieties of bush cherries this year and even
with the drought, I'm surprised at how well they are doing. I love
cherry jam....and cherry pie........cobblers....There's something about
fruit that really makes life good, ya know? Rich is definitely the
right word.
