As for cottage cheese,
nobody wants to know that I eat it with garlic/chile powder and a
little salt (not for publication).

For me, it's salt, pepper, and lemon pepper.....I love the stuff. It's
my favorite snack. I'm partial to small curds over large ones, and I
won't touch that lowfat stuff....I like the 4% fat type.
People think adding stuff to cottage cheese is gross. I don't know why.
You can guy other cheeses with flavorings, and almost all cheese has a
lot of salt in it.
When I used to make goat cheeses, I would always add a bit of lemon
juice when I started adding things to the cheese. Cottage cheese, goat
cheese, IMO, any soft cheese like this benefits from a little something
extra.
