Wow, you two have the "if someone else did it, it is o.k." excuses down to a fine science.
The "can" do it, so it is o.k., right? Well, then it means that because my car will easily do over 120 mph then I should be able to do it whenever and where ever I like.
Anyone can, with the proper equipment, break into your home and steal you blind. Guess that would be o.k. too. Anyone can, with the proper equipment, break into and steal your car. Guess that would be o.k., also.
I mean, you must have always been aware that people could break in? I mean, with newer survelleince equipment available at most Radio Shacks, thieves know exactly when you are and aren't home.
You do see the falacy of your argument, don't you?

You stated: This in and of
itself is a violation of the 4th amendment. This is akin to police randomly
coming to your home, poking around inside, and figuring out if you have any
Islamist Arabs hanging out inside.

Oh for crying out loud, it is not. I am always free to make or answer my phone calls. Having dealt with an identity theft situation, AND having sold cell phones in a former life, I have always been aware that people could listen in. Anyone can, with the proper equipment. With new phones, Big Brother also knows exactly where you are. Comparing entering my house with listening in on a conversation is utter hogwash, and totally ridiculous. You may not like it, but please use cogent arguments, not knee jerk emotional reactions.
