Slug size does make a difference. We have the little gray slug, not the big
Seattle slugs.

I make a high concentrate of coffee by taking a pound and letting sit in
water for 48 hours and then straining out the concentrate. Trust me, it
works--at least on the smaller slugs. However, if you read the articles
posted, the coffee and the coffee grounds acts as a repellant for the larger
slugs and snails.
