John responds:
The affintity between Christ and Logos for Romans is to be found IMO
through the eyes of Justin Martyr whom I quoted in an earlier post:

". . .We have been taught that Christ is the first-born of God. And
we have declared above that he is the Word [Logos] of whom every race
of men are partakers and those who lived reasonably are Christians
even though they have been thought to be atheists as among the
Greeks, Socrates and Heraclitus, and men like them." (First
Apology,18)

Do we have any reason to refute the connection that Justin Martyr is
making?

John
