But it says windows only. How do I integrate it into my Mac world? Plus, only 4gb. But I really like the idea of having an fm tuner, and I really, really, really like the idea of a voice recorder. How good is the recording quality, and does it have line-in?

You don't really need windows to use it.

I'm under the impression that you can pay an extra $20/semester (on top
of the $9/month to use their windows-only required proprietary player)
to get some kind of DRM-laden takeaway tracks that can be used on
portable devices. I believe it's Microsoft Plays-for-sure DRM, which
does in fact mean that it's not compatible, as Kyle says, with iPod *or*
with Microsoft's own Zune. Heh.

But surely all the college kids have moved past the passe iPod, since
their parents all use them, and are onto the more cutting-edge players
like the iRiver Clix.

Or maybe it's the parents who're smart enough to see thru the Apple
marketing hype. The two Clix users I know are both over the age of 25.
Damn nice player, too.

Since we're (sort of) on the subject, Ruckus works with neither Zune nor
iPod/iTunes. I have no idea what UNC kids are into these days, but I think
that would likely limit its popularity.
