One middle ground for professional photographers might be to persue a plan I
started experimenting with and which I think Mia has said would work license
wise...

Don't worry about people making money from your works, worry instead about
being paid a fair amount for your work.

Release low res versions BY-SA, have hi res versions for sale (as copies) as
ARR or BY-NC. And for licensing.

Set an amount if income for each picture where succesively higher res
versions
get released BY-SA.

(This would work better if BY-SA applied to collective works and not mere
aggregations ala what the GPL says it does, but I should still be able to
work under present conditions.)
