Any difference between Opera in the .gz format vs the .bz2 format? One
better than the other? Thanks.

Opera 9.64 will work fine as long as you also get the required libraries (which I packaged as http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl/operalib.tgz - from Slackware 8.1, glibc 2.2.5).
Opera 10 has a lot more dependencies. I have not succeeded in making it work. I had all the dependencies but the fonts were showing as squares.

Opera mail works with every smtp provider I tried (earthlink, att, fastmail). Seamonkey smtp works only with earthlink, ditto for msmtp (use port 587). At least that is the case when using AT&T DSL broadband, which blocks port 25.
