a IBM Thinkpad 560

Thinkpads can be difficult. Old Thinkpads had nonstandard
floppy disks and required a special kernel parameter to run
Linux. I have no idea whether Thinkpads have nonstandard
PCMCIA hardware (but it wouldn't surprise me). I own four
different brands of laptops -- none of them is a Thinkpad.

This 560 is from (I believe) 1997. The floppies work fine, so...
