The _new_ setserial, which my serial card requires:

Version: 2.17-40
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-4)

Does it need the entire library package or just maybe libc.so.6 and possibly also libm.so.6? Many of us have added a few libc6 files to BL3 to run programs such as Opera (which luckly works with older libx11).

----------------

Slackware provides binaries that work with BL3, up to glibc
version 2.3.2.

I'm using libc5. Nice and small and stable and 'simple'. I
thought that was the point of BL. If I wanted to use glibc I'd
just install a new slackware base system and build it up from
there.

That would take up much more space than libc.so.6 2.3.2
