On another matter (BL3.4), I tried to install a flash-player to the shiny
new Opera in BL3.4, but it comlained that my glibc is too old.

Does it tell you what minimum version it requires? If so, what version
does it want?

The SW9.0 glibc is 14 MB !

You mean the glibc-2*.tgz, right? I think that is for compiling only.

Is there ANY possibility that installing the SW9.0 glibc libraries (not
the glibc-solibs which are running well) could farkle BL3.4 ?

http://computing-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/farkled

'farkled' == 'hosed' or 'destroyed beyond easy repair'

It is very hard for a library upgrade to destroy BL3, since all of the
foundation is statically compiled, unlike BL2.
