My file is upx'ed.

That explains why it was smaller than mine (before I compressed mine).

upx'ed executables supposedly take a bit longer to load but I don't notice
any difference on my 500MHz computer.

They will take less time to load than a standard executable if the
entire upx'ed executable fits in ram and your hard drive has DMA
enabled. This is because CPUs are usually fast enough to keep
up with hard drives, and since the file is smaller it takes less time
for the hard drive to load it into memory.

I have DMA disabled and it still loads quickly.

They download in 45% of the time.

That's why I gzip'ed mine.

If I gzip the upx'ed version, will that make it any smaller?

You seem not to have compiled to use lynx.lss, which lets you
change colors for various attributes, and add the missing line
for underline to the default.

-snip-

Can you figure out how to include lynx.lss, probably in /usr/local/lib?

Yes. I need to run configure again with --enable-color-style and then
remake. I will upload a new binary soon.

Thanks a lot! I will try to get realaudio working with lynx in the meantime.

Did I correctly understand that you can compile using kernel 2.2.26 with
linuxinc kernel headers for 2.2.16 from SW71, or do we need to get hold of
2.2.26 linuxinc?

For most (maybe all) applications you can use a kernel header version
that is fairly close, such as 2.2.26 for 2.2.16.

For compiling new 3rd-party modules you will usually need to grab
the 2.2.26 kernel source.

I could package your executable with the original lynx.lss (blue on grey)
and my own modified one, and also my own lynx.cfg with zgv, drvmidi,
antiword, pdftotext, and without VMS sections.

Thanks!

I have my links.cfg file posted at http://keesan.freeshell.org/bl

Have wma and ram mutated beyond recognition since our last list discussion
or did I mess up my cfg file? I have -playlist option for pls and m3u,
and asf/asx, and not for ram or mp3.

Have you tried manually using mplayer with these files?

See another posting. Some problem with racook that I have had before.

association "mplayer" "audio/x-ms-asf" "mplayer -playlist %" 19 1
association "mplayer" "audio/x-pn-realaudio" "mplayer %" 19 1

extension "asx" "video/x-ms-asf"

You need to set this to "audio/x-ms-asf" to match the association
line.
I figured that out eventually and it now works.

extension "ram" "audio/x-pn-realaudio"

You need to set the association line to mplayer -playlist instead
of just mplayer. All ram files that I have seen are playlists. Same
goes for .smi or .smil files (newer version of ram).
I get a bit farther that way but racook is the problem.

I added all the extensions/associations that Steven suggested.
