Sindi,
No,DOS cannot see NTFS in XP and no version of XP has an ftp server built
in,unless you install one.Cute FTP and Filezilla are a couple of the best
I've tried and are free downloads for WinXP.
The 192.168.1.1 dns assigned IS the router.That is the function it
serves in a networked environment.As James has said,that interface is the
GUI for the router.You don't need to be there.
Remember,on a closed internal network,DHCP is the way to go unless you
have a REALLY good reason not too.
