I will post my config file some time. We are leaving for a real
analog piano concert now.
Also helpful would be the complete log. When you run X, add:
----------------------
2>stderrlog >stdoutlog
----------------------
to the end of the command line. Then send stderrlog and stdoutlog.
These may help greatly with tracking this problem down.
David
Okay.
startx consists of the lines
xinit
touch /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy
.xinitrc:
export DISPLY=localhost:0.0 (this came from Steven)
rxvt &
exec icewm &
rxvt &
(I added the last so as to start with an rxvt)
By great good fortune I have a floppy disk that the laptop will read so here are the longer files:
stoutlog is 0 length
stderrlog is what I was reading you messages from about SpeedUps.

(The ^M may be an artifact of copying via DOS floppy disk).

I see this after a fleeting glimpse of X.
Here is XF86Config - I deleted anything remarked out to save space.
