Hm. By coincidence, I have just changed hard drives, and used

-------------
XXCOPY C:\ D:\ /clone
-------------

C:\BASLIN is just like it used to be on the old drive, but when I do
HD.BAT, BL3 does not load.

(C: is the only primary partition on that hard drive)

I will go try it now, and see whether I can remember what happens..

Oops.
This time I tried BOOT.BAT instead ( loadlin zimage root=/dev/loop0
initrd=initfs.gz rw ),
and BL3 loaded just fine.

I have to figure out what's wrong with the HD way,
( loadlin bzimage root=/dev/hda3 rw )

That gives messages like unable to read beyond end of drive , bread
failure, kernel panic etc etc
Oh, wait! The BL3 is on the _old_ hard drive, so now that would be
/dev/hdb3 ?
I will check.

Thanks,
Sheldon Isaac
