Can you describe exactly what you did and what happened?

You can also use a DOS (or Windows) program to repartition the hard drive. We use PQMagic and other people have their own favorites, including some freeware program(s). I think Partition Manager was one of them.

Greetings,

I am new to Basic Linux and this listserv. I am trying
to setup Basic Linux to run on my laptop. However, I
am having problems running the install script. I can
not get the fdisk and mke2fs scripts to repartition
the hard drive of my laptop and create an ext2
filesystem. Please help me. I want to get my laptop up
and running for use as an amateur radio logger and
psk31 terminal.

Please understand that I am a Linux user already. My
primary computer runs Red Hat 9. My wife's computer
(the secondary system) runs Red Hat 8, and our son's
computer is currently running Red Hat 6 (a two year
old doesn't really need a computer, but he wants to
play with ours, so we set up one for him to play
with).

I do thank you all in advance for any help you can
provide and for taking the time to answer my question.

Pax,

Christopher
