Which is not continuous with the root filesystem. It is
just an attached (empty) 4mb filesystem.

As with the extra 4mb ramdisk in BL2, an additional looped
file would not be continuous. It would simply be a separate
chunk of space. I suppose you could copy the entire /usr
tree into that space and then mount it as /usr, but anybody
prepared to do that should consider creating a separate HD
partition instead and copying the complete fs into that.

Just as BL2 adds the 4mb ramdisk in /etc/rc, BL3 could use
/etc/rc to mount a ramdisk, a HD partition, or a file.
