I did these with the DOS command "DIR /A >> FLOPFILE

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause confusion: early on, per Steven, I got
bzimage from Slakware, and have used it since; of course one can use
zimage.

Here is the .BAT file, probably changed from the original.

loadlin bzimage kbd-reset root=/dev/ram rw initrd=baslinux.gz
REM call f:\bl\loadlin.exe f:\bl\bzimage vga=4 root=/dev/hdb3 ro
