I have gotten both of these and installed them. Ghostscript seems to
be functional because I have got XPDF going without any problem under
icewm.

All done without complaint.

I have left /etc/printcap as is for the moment, set on default. There
is only a small choice, none of which is related to an HP DeskJet 600.
And lpr foo.txt elicits no response from anything.

Looks like Ghostscript is going to have to translate. Where do I look
for help on this - the Linux-HOWTO seems more concerned with PDQ than
with LPR.
