I don't remember how the" install to hard drive" works but I believe you
use the ramdisk version to do it. There is a "go" script in there that
you can modify
to keep linux from formatting the linux partition before installing linux.
I did this myself in resqueing my system. You can do a re-install of all
the linux files on the ex2 partition to get the necessary files back where
they go without loosing any info there. I know very little about
programming.
