Regarding the half-life of boot/rescue floppy disks, our 1.44M disks
frequently get bad sectors because the tracks are so close together.
The 720 disks last much longer, and the 360K are nearly indestructible.
Fortunately BL2 reads all of these (unlike a Redhat 6 installation we were
given).
