There's no interest in a system devised by anybody. Bernard Shaw left the
bulk of his estate to a charitable trust for promoting a rational English
alphabet. The residuary legatees (the BM, RADA and the Dublin Royal Academy)
challenged the bequest on technical grounds. An out-of-court settlement was
reached which conceded the trust enough money to sponsor a design competition
for a new alphabet; Penguin published a transcription of Androcles and the
Lion using the winning design; and that was the end of that.

I might point out, by the way, that there's nothing wrong with the English
alphabet; it's English orthography that's the problem. And even that is of
some value to students of older dialects or of other Germanic languages.
