Dear Martin,

I read that you had a book published on Ecclesiastes, _The End of Wisdom. A
Reappraisal of the Historical
and Canonical Function of Ecclesiastes_.

Ecclesiastes 3:11
KJV - "He hath made every "thing" beautiful in his time: also he hath set the
world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh
from
the beginning and the end."

RSV - "He had made everything beautiful in his time; also he hath put eternity
into man's mind, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the
beginning to the end."

NIV - "He had made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity
in
the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to
end."

My question is, "What is your take on the phrase in the second half of the
verse, "et-olam natan bilbam milbam asher lo-yimtza hadom et-hammaaseh
asher-asah...?

Rev. Bryant J. Williams III
