We got one at a Raulston arboretum sale a number of years ago. I
remember well toting it from our last abode to our new house in
the back of my Honda Accord in a big, black plastic tub. It
remains alive much to my relief and is now about 10 feet tall. My
favorite woman would have been mighty upset if her gingko would
have gone to the forest in the sky. (The hundred hostas I dug and
moved are another story.)

The biggest I have seen are in the Missouri Botanical Gardens
in St. Louis. Monsters, they are, several feet thick and probably
60-80 feet tall. I would call that mature. I don't know if they
were male or female, but I didn't see any hint of flowers. I
understand that the females make a big mess.

I don't think that you can misidentify a gingko. The leaves
are unlike anything else we have around these parts. Enjoy, Roger
