Hi all,

Just bringing this up now that FreeNode has a new cloak setup. From
our prior discussion[0] we wanted what appears to be the following:
user|{wizard|mage|guru,apprentice}|golem|elder

FYI, this should have looked like this:
user|{wizard|mage|guru|apprentice}|golem|elder

General meanings:
* user : User's who request a cloak and have been around for a
'while' (say, at least 3 months)
* elder : A Team Lead
* wizard : Scripting-end, codes bash a lot (sorcery/ISO team)
* guru : Spellkeeper, writes spells for breakfast and maintains
the grimoire
* mage : allrounder, a bit of each of them, like QA team or such
* apprentice : New developer, not quite confident, once he/she knows
their specialities and capabilites they re-apply for
one of the above

Also, 're-apply for' is a bit strong-worded. That should be 'request'.

* golem : A bot

So, if people would care to send me the cloaks they'd like (e.g.
/sourcemage/guru, /sourcemage/apprentice, etc.) along with the nick
you'd like the cloak applied to (has to be a registered nick) I'll
send those to lilo in about a week (so that he can do them all at once
instead of a few at a time).

Maybe it's too late, but I'd add/change a couple:

* arch : project lead

I don't think the PL needs a cloak any different from the other Leads.
;)

* herald : use this instead of 'user'. people wearing our cloak are at
least implicitly advocates, and these people are often
answering a lot of questions for newbies in IRC.

That would also fit the naming scheme better than 'user', which seems
a bit misplaced in the above.

I also think sourcemage/mage is kind of redundant-looking, but I don't know
if it's worth trying to find something else.

That is a good point. On IRC 'sorcerer' was mentioned, but that looks
a bit silly to me (sourcemage/sorcerer). Even the variation
'sourcerer' looks odd. The idea was that a 'mage' is typically a
'generic' type of wizard, where you can have specialties and then have
a different name (in D&D parlance you could be a Transmuter, Evoker,
Abjurer, etc.). Perhaps 'nomad' would fit the spot better? Suggestions
are welcome.

Though this could have been brought up before, at least it's being
done before the cloaks have been requested. ;)

Any nays? Anyone wishing to change what they've told me may want to
wait until we 'finalize' the options.
