The file locking itself isn't very slow, it's the usage of it which has
not been optimized yet. /tmp will be full of sorcery.* files if you stop a
cast before it's done. The locklist* files may eventualy be moved into
their own directory, but they are necessary and should be persistent.
I don't think there are any open bugs involving any of those complaints.
If there's no bug report, it probably won't get fixed. As it stands now,
most of the bugs are small.
