What I am getting at, is poor quality control lately in the grimoire.
Perhaps we should adopt some more rigid testing procedures before spells
get updated, something along the lines of a certain number of people need
to "approve" the spell before it gets out of the devel grimoire. I
understand this adds a lot more work and these are volunteer positions,
but I'd rather see the spells take longer to get updated then have to
cringe every time I do a 'system-update'.

Another example of poor quality control is the freetype2 spell. This
failed to summon because the SOURCE_URL is wrong:

How did this get unnoticed between devel and test grimoires?
