The major reason that I haven't been writing much yet is that the major seed
lines that I'm propagating aren't ready for prime time. These are lines of
peaches, apricots, crabapples, and golden currants. The key attribute of each
of these lines is that they are self sowing. I don't sow them just transplant
them. Each of them have problems that aren't solved yet. The peaches have
peach tree borer. The selecting continues. The apricots haven't stabilized in
high yielding form. The selecting continues. The crabapples haven't
stabilized. I'm bringing in some new Iowa crabs to see if they can be
stabilized in a red, green, and gold form. The golden currants haven't been
self sowing long enough to see if they have stabilized as such. I've got a
couple more generations to go.
