Adobe is a mud brick made from approx 30% clay and 70%sand and sun dried.
From your description would be a problem drying in your climate - cob would
be a substitute.
By the way, hands down, adobe trumps concrete in all categories except in
lateral strength. The clay sand combination exists on most land somewhere.
I have only found clay limited in coastal and riparian areas and sand in
tropics and areas where clay is a high fraction of the soil composition.
Over all I have always found that I can find materials for adobe brick where
ever I am within a few miles radius. Adobe is free generally unless you hire
someone else to make it or you have to haul the materials over long
distances. Concrete or cmu blocks are never a good option in terms of
environmental footprint you will never reach carbon neutral - perhaps in 7
generations.
