My main problem is the incredible waste of air time over a triviality - and
now I am participating! I'm done!

So, if I ask a neighbor to help me build a fence, should I expect that they
bring the post-hole digger and post-driver? There are people out there
willing and ready to SEND LARRY U.S. CURRENCY. Would you rather he forego
those funds because you deride their means of transfer or accept those funds
to ensure that this forum survives. I too will be sending a check in the
mail. That means Larry will have to either a) take time out his day making
his living to make his way to his bank in order to deposit those funds, or
b) take time out his day making his living to prepare and mail my check to
his bank. I'm neither a fan nor champion of PayPal, but asserting that
(several) donations by check, money orders, etc. are 'better' than (several
MORE) donations by electronic transfer is barely debatable.

Peace.

I find it shocking that this thread has devolved to discussion of how to
ease our process of helping a cohort through plastic! First of all getting
funds to Larry should not fall on his shoulders to implement! Remember that
there is the old "check is in the mail", or postal money order, or how about
a "bank draft". It seems that convenience is the order of the day even if
it means giving someone 3% of our donation and burdening someone else with
setting up the system. This is certainly not a pc solution to the problem.

After all the discussion of how to solve the problem of getting funds from
point A to point B I hope the result is to address the real problem by
working out, on your own, how to make it happen.

My check is in the mail Larry.

If anyone would care to make a donation to me of any amount to cover my
time and ISP charges for maintenance of this forum I would be appreciative.

I am expecting a long and financially difficult winter this year,
following an unproductive market farming season with four months of near
complete drought and losses encountered from the ongoing national
economic downturn.
