It's marvelous what spending time unpacking and organizing yr office can do
for your mood, even if under the gun on timing...
I found the article I mentioned from "Ecological Restoration" that talks
about terra preta:
check E. R. 17:2 Summer 1999 "Before 1492 The Making of the Pre-Columbian
Landscape" Part I, by Joseph McCann, and Part II in the Fall '99 issue.
Also you can check McCann, '94, "Terra Preta do Indio in Lower Amazonia:

Proceedings of the Joint meeting of the Sociedad Mexicana de Geografia y
