In my wanderings around the NW, I have seen that places where the natives
lived have populations of Serviceberry (Amelanchier, Saskatoon) that yield
heavier, with larger fruit, and with much less incidence of rust, than
Serviceberries up on ridges.
Malus fusca (Oregon crab apple) in these places tends to have larger
clusters of fruit, and better flavor. And for some reason Malus fusca is
found around Breitenbush Hotsprings, way back in the mountains away from
other populations.

Everything gardens. 'Cept maybe some modern humans.
