Yes and no. The PFAF and Eden engines have very different formats so
itis the sort of thing that would have to be set up. Here is an
example of both of them looking for woodland:

<http://www.ibiblio.org/pfaf/cgi-bin/find_gen?WORD=woodland&CAN=can>

<http://permaculture.info/cgi-bin/eden?search=woodland&button=Search+PIW>

It would be easy enough to write a script to search for every word in
a list of words.

There is really two things going on with the above pages:

1) Topic index pages, i.e. a browse facility giving users standard things to search for.

2) Searches looking up specific words in the database.

I've found that 1) is very useful and tends to get used a lot.
Its good for users who don't know what they are looking for
giving the user hints as to what might be fun to search for.

I'd highly recommend having topic index pages for

All botanical names and synonyms. Split into A-Z categories.
All common names split into A-Z.
Families
Every category of words in the vocabulary
i.e. pages for habitiats, edible uses etc.
Top 100 plants

This sort of stuff could be considered to be a front end issue (i.e. bear/steph). But might want to have the pages automatically generated
so might need some hooks from the backend to provide the necessary info.

As for 2) searching for specific words, this is quite a little used
feature. I would not put it as too high a priority.
