I do have footies. The bugs bit through them. I have the surround. That
did not do much either. I have not tried them together. I have also used
baggies and pheromones. We have some tough moths here.

Naomi,
Have you tried Footies soaked and dried in Surround/kaolin? I order mine
from the Home Orchard Society in Portland, Oregon. You can find and order
'em on line. I just have to get them on the fruit at the same time they need
to be thinned - those that need thinning - and get them off about two weeks
before picking. They have cut my losses from codling worms to about 10%. 

Granted, this requires some hours each May/June, but I need never spray.
Glad for you squirrels are ignorant of your setting; may that remain so.
