Jerrydana5 asks, "Any suggestions on how to keep birds from my blueberries? Netting is terribly expensive."

Netting expensive???? Where have you been buying it? The cheapest netting I've found comes from www.mdtgrow.com . My blueberry patch consists of two rows of twelve bushes spaced 3' apart (both ways) with a 3' aisle between the bushes and a small cell chicken wire fence made stiff with some woven wire. In the middle there are 4' high T posts running the length of the patch. The T bars are connected by emt tubing so the netting can slide over easily. The netting is held in place on both sides with snapper type clothes pins.
I leave the netting in place over the Winter so the deer don't browse the bushes but the netting must be removed for flower pollination because the bumble bees won't fly through it.
