It wasn't my intention to bash Oikos, nor does Ken's work need defending. I'm starting to do my own selections & growing out using the same basic approach I think Oikos is using, so I'm all too aware of the inherent difficulties with selecting out seedling fruit & nuts.

I am curious tho if anyone who bought the Dunbars plums had better luck than me with this stock. I've almost never had an issue with growing out prunus, part of the reason why I went for a batch of 50 of them. Or for that matter, any recommendations on what I could do with these tiny little seedlings in the remaining 2 months of growing season. They're potted in high quality organic compost & fertilized with a tea of molasses & fish fertilizer, everything else I'm growing goes bonkers on this mixture. About the only thing I can think of it putting them back in the greenhouse.

I have had good luck with Oikos. Ordered those same P maritima plants but the problem was my lack of care. They said they were small and I should have potted them up. I enjoy the plants unavailable elsewhere and like to support Nafexers. Hector Black zone 6 middle tn
