Hi Ginda; Here's some info from the U of S site.
Check out the articles on Cherries. This should answer some of your questions on the fruit.
Both Gurney's and Henry Field's should have Carmine Jewel. The romance series as the U of S cherries are called
are good choices for growing in colder climates ie zone 3.
