I don't know, but since I seem to have a mature one already, and I want to plant the other nearby, i presume I have whatever fungi it needs in the soil.

(I could ship you a handful of soil if you think it would make a difference - contact me off-list if you're interested.)

Please excused if I posted this Q in the past, but don't Amelanchiers do
better if they have the correct fungal associates on the roots? And is that
one reason why pH is an issue-- the fungus/ fungi need the correct pH? I'd
like to dose my Amel.s w/ this, and see if it makes a difference (mine have
been very slow, and the seeds I germinated this year have also been slow.)

.... I had thought the soil might
be too acid for it, but apparently not. Any suggestions for a good
amelamchior for zone 6 in Massachusetts? (So many of the selected
ones are best suited to colder climates, it seems.) I would prefer a
large shrub or small tree, and tolerance of light shade. It's fairly
dry there, too.

Thanks,
Ginda
