There are a lot of things to take into consideration. I leave both unions
above ground (south coastal B.C.), but I understand that where the weather
is less temperate, people bury the lower union.
I'm not clear on why, but I thought it had something to do with hardiness.
I think Ed Fackler wll know more about whether the unions should be buried
and why.
