I have a couple honeycrisps I am trialing on m.prunifolia. ( All my apples are trials here) They are about 4' tall and are the sorryest looking young trees this year - in my orhcard of over 50 varieties. While most others have grown 1 to 2+ feet, these 3 trees have had brown sickly leaves most of the summer and have grown only a few inches. It was a dry winter, -35 bottom. Some trees had strange bud dieback, but nothing else is acting like the honeycrisp. I noted Ed's recent post mentioning leaf problems associated with this variety.......
Enjoying our first trailmans, sprightly little delights! Del
