Have you tried growing Everbearing as an "annual" resprouting bush? cut it back, cover with a few bales of hay & supposedly they produce fruit on the first year wood. also do you get winter kill with Hardy Chicago?
Currently only have LSU Purple - which is supposed to fruit on first year wood, and an unnamed selection from AL that my dad gave me. Have had a few others - Brown Turkey, TN Mountain(a sport of Celeste, if I recall correctly), Mystery X, but they have died out or been lost somewhere along the line.
