Tom, I looked up "Snow White" and "Hahaha", and they both propagate as
attachments. I haven't gotten any attachments from Yahoo in a while.
1) Do you think this is related to my missing some posts?
2) I dimly recall having set some preference to NOT get attachments.
(or HTML, or something like that) I did this because the flashing ads
were driving me nuts, but maybe it's been protecting me from some
viruses. Now that I go back and look, I haven't gotten many ads lately,
either - mostly just text ads to download M$ Internet Explorer, and
notes about Yahoo having swallowed e-groups. There's often a line that
says "Yahoo Group Sponsor" with no other info. This is a big
improvement over what I had been getting.
You might want to go to Yahoo Groups and see if there are preferences
you can set to avoid these pests. If you learn something useful, please
share.
