Richard,
You are right to a degree but believe me, I did need it. I got more money than the bare bones amount needed to acquire my 30 x 72 but someone had to erect it and in my state the per sq ft allowance was figured to help cover this expense. It is a cost share so the amount, in fact, would not have covered a sub-contractor's fee and if this program is to succeed I think the mission should include helping to facilitate completing the initial install. No doubt it seems unfair to those who did not get in and I would prefer every qualified applicant did get in but if I had gotten a cost share on just the purchase price and had to hire someone to erect it I would most likely have had to pass on it. I simply could not have done it. I realize I am very fortunate to have been awarded this gain and wish every qualified applicant had but in Georgia it is what it is and I wanted and needed the assistance. I most assuredly recognize how fortunate I am. I have busted my butt to score, dissect and re-erect other free houses and have tried to encourage others to do the same.
Additionally I favor tax doller funding of small ag and believe we have been sold out by Wall Street so I stand by my question.
Peace,
Todd

No offense intended Todd but think this a fairly inflammatory question considering you pocketed left over money.I would rather see those dollars you pocketed (the money intended to pay a contractor to build the structure) go to Carla (ie be returned to the program since you did not need it).Just saying.Richard StewartCarriage House FarmNorth Bend, OhioAn Ohio Century Farm Est. 1855On Sep 6, 2011, at 11:43 PM, Todd Lister wrote:Would you rather those dollars went to Wall Street Banker's bonuses?
