We were trying to maintain a website and a blog and it go too time consuming.  We then decided to just route all our www.jaysjellies.com to our blog.  It automatically forwards you to  http://highfarming.blogspot.com/.  Problem solved.

I buy my domain name from my web host, $12.95/year.  Not sure what privacy
controls you are talking about, but they do shield our info on domain name
owner/etc.  I know it is a little more than GoDaddy, but as I mentioned
earlier, I get phenomenal support, and they provide free hosting for our
farmers markets.  It is http://www.12wonderwebservices.com/

We use godaddy for domain registration and pay roughly $20/yr which
includes privacy controls. We host via a2 hosting who always has a
deal going for discounted long term commitments. We've been very happy
with them so far. But we did design and manage our own site, so a
service that provides more help might be better for folks that don't
know & don't want to learn that kind of thing.
