All of this is interesting. I use speedling trays, line up on the bench
touching. I then use a very large scoop to scoop out of the bag (Redi Earth)
and onto the trays. I have always just leveled it off by hand, and if I have
too much it's easy to push it over onto the next flat. When all the flats for
that day's seeding are filled I wet the flats down thoroughly. This alone
seems to firm up the media enough. I then use an old sharpie marker to make
my "dibbles" and seed by hand. I've thought about putting some sort of tray
or something under my flats to catch the excess media, but I don't really
lose that much.
I think I'm going to order that Vibro seeder though. That thing looks awesome!
