We have also done the fold method like everyone else has told you and yes it does drip a little.  We always used Queen Gill tape, but last year we bought a roll of Bowsmith drip tape from Robert Marvel as they stopped carrying Queen Gill and the ends leaked tremendously no matter what we tried.  We ended up having to put a valve on the ends.

I am using drip irrigation for the first time this year. I finished setting up one building and it worked great.  I have a problem with the end of each run of drip tape.  I did not buy the end caps. I have heard that you can fold over the drip tape 3 times and stick it inside a short piece of drip tape and this will work to seal it.  That is what I did but it is dripping. Should I put a zip tie around it or a piece pf wire or is it just going to drip.  I am open to any other ideas, but buying more pieces is not one.  I have shelled out too much cash this spring.

Thanks,

Jay
