Liz,
That is the weirdest comment I have ever heard.  "If you are organic, you can't reuse bags?"  That doesn't make sense. Isn't that kind of the opposite of what most people, who buy organic, think and are supporting?  Use less resources, chemicals, fertilizer, better for you and the environment, but you must use this new bag and waste resources or your own to transport your produce home in.

Besides, if the bag was dirty, what is the reasoning behind this.

Just curious,

Jay

Our market encourages recycling too except we're selling transplants along
with produce and most do not want that dirt and drippiness in their bags.
Also, most vendors are organic so reusing bags isn't allowed. We'd
love to
use cardboard flats but we don't have enough room to cart all we need to
market.

Greetings,
The customers that need reciepts, like the chefs, carry their own reciept
books and they write it up, I just sign it.

At our market, recycling bags is encouraged. Many customers use their own,
cloth bags for produce. Many bring us bags of used bags. We barely touched
our box of bags last year.

Bright Blessings,
Kim
