Thanks for the reply. I used the weave method for the first time on tomatoes this year (approx 1000’). It is a lot of work, but I really liked the results. So, I guess I will try it on cucs.

 

 Mike here is my zip code. We may set a record high tomorrow in the 70’s.

Why can’t one use stakes and twine (Florida Weave) for cucs, like tomatoes

 

I think one could.  My neighbor did something like that last year with his but he told me that it was a lot of work and it took a lot of twine.  I think I'm going to try it on a short row this coming year.  I predict that it will go a lot like trying to stake and weave oxheart tomatoes (notorious for weak, wimpy stems).  Again the issue is the cost of stakes, twine, and time.
